STAVEKIRKE
...A wonderful effort!

Vern Anderson, educator

Building a Dream: The Moorhead Stave Church is the story of Guy Paulson, a research biologist and amateur wood carver, who came to build a full scale replica of the Hopperstad Stavkirke. The original church, a 900 year old structure in Vik, Norway, is one of a handful of medieval wooden churches to have survived into this century.

This is a documentary about dreams and how extraordinary effort can make them come true. "I think people in general can do a lot more than they think they can, if they have the right attitude," Guy Paulson insists. In this program we discover how one mans passion for woodcarving, Scandinavian roots, and love for his community inspired him to create this monument to a regionŐs cultural and religious heritage.
